This one came when I was at the Spanish Arch sitting by the water trying to write a paper for my art history class. The subject was a gallery’s worth of abstract art by John Kingerlee.<\/p>\n
A breath of air is wave’s gestation
\nSpeaking words of invitation,
\nEach break of wave another plea
\nTo let the sea encompass me.<\/p>\n
But I remain dry on the land,
\nPencil and paper in my hand,
\nTrying ever fervently
\nTo dissect master Kingerlee.<\/p>\n
Yet, he remains a mystery to me.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Notes: John Kingerlee is an Irish artist who deals mostly in highly abstract depictions of heads and of the landscape of the Beara peninsula, where he lives a fairly hermetic existence with the company of his wife.
